Going to be shown at Ocean Terminal in TST today and tomorrow. I wonder what kind of features we're going to miss out on

Interesting they claim the 'All New' RX when it's only a face lift. But I did notice the HP rating on the hybrid 450h is 299 which is up by 2. But I'm not positive their value is the same as our HP value. Does anyone else know ???

Went to the Lexus dealer yesterday to check out the new GS F-sport and the new RX

299 PS is listed in the brochure: if I'm not mistaken the 1 hp is slightly less than 1 ps so total system output should be identical to prior models (there were no changes in the powertrain according to the salesman).

F-Sport models get lower equipment than the top-trim Ultimate models like it is for every single other Lexus model here. I wonder why they won't let us combine packages.

No major price changes:
RX270 Ultimate $639,400
RX350 F-Sport $644,700
RX350 Ultimate $699,500
RX450h Luxury $725,400
RX450h F-Sport $755,600
RX450h Ultimate $791,600
Not sure why the 270 only comes in one trim level, or why the 450h is the only one with the base Luxury trim.

Lots of standard features, at least when compared to BMW or Merc. Things like HID headlights, smart key entry, push button ignition, power tailgate, sunroof, power seats etc are standard on all models.

F-Sport adds the F-specific wheels (five-double-spoke wheels finished in gunmetal gray), body cladding and grille. LED headlights replace the HIDs on the 450h.

Ultimate models lose the cladding and F-grille (wheels are the same but not in gunmetal), but add navigation, backup camera, HUD and heated/vented seats.

Personally I'm not sure how I like the spindle grille... looks a bit tacked on tbh and doesn't flow with the rest of the car. I do like the new tail lights though, they now have a night-time signature similar to that of the 4GS.

One other thing to note: the LX seems to have been introduced some time in the last few months.
LX460 8-seater $1,557,920
I had no idea they made a LX460, I've only seen 570s I wonder how well sales will be. There aren't that many Land Cruisers on the road and Toyota have been selling them for quite a while.

Currency conversion.

FYI, the current conversion rate of Hong Kong Dollars to US Dollars is:
1 HKD = 0.128900 USD
1 USD = 7.75795 HKD
So the price table above translates to:
RX270 Ultimate HKD 639,400 USD 82,418.66
RX350 F-Sport HKD 644,700 USD 83,101.83
RX350 Ultimate HKD 699,500 USD 90,165.55
RX450h Luxury HKD 725,400 USD 93,504.06
RX450h F-Sport HKD 755,600 USD 97,396.84
RX450h Ultimate HKD 791,600 USD 102,037.24
Perhaps Yamanote can confirm, but I doubt that that includes the "... first-time registration tax, which varies from 35% to over 100%, based on the size and value of the car." (per Wikipedia)

Do they call financing a 'home' mortgage over there ??? The Chinese government should subsidize those cars with all the interest they're making on loans to the U.S.

Thanks for the conversion

Don't worry- those prices do include the FRT

The pricing for the 450h models already have the $50,000 (how generous!) 'environmentally friendly private vehicle tax subsidy' deducted.

Some price sheets include a break-down of the pricing (Lexus doesn't, but Mercedes do) and it becomes abundantly clear how ridiculous prices are... the retail price of the vehicle (which is basically the US MSRP, you lucky scum) is listed at the top then as you go down the sheet you then see the First Registration Tax number (which is basically 3/4ths of the vehicle's retail price) tacked on resulting in $50k Camrys and $100k barebones E250s.

The HK government wants people to take public transport, but it doesn't seem to be working: everyone is still buying US$80k minivans and ridiculously overpriced luxury vehicles.

One edit to the spec sheet: all RX450h models, including the base Luxury trim, include LED headlights. All other models make do with HIDs.
