Oil Change Maintenance Reminder Setup
In the nav screen, there are all sorts of maintenance reminder setups like for oil change and oil filter change...etc. I currently have 4500+ miles on my 2011 RX350 and I noticed a message about oil maintenance soon on my dashboard upon starting my car this morning. The default oil change interval in my nav setup is 5k miles and it shows that there are 300+ miles left before reaching 5k mile threshold. QUESTION: Does changing this mileage in the nav screen directly affect when I would receive the oil maintenance reminder on my dashboard? If the answer is no, how can I get the oil maintenance reminder to come up every 10k miles instead of 5k miles?

Intermediate
The OIL MAINTENANCE REMINDER that comes on the DASH is not "alterable" in regards to mileage I'm pretty sure.
4500 miles and you get the "change oil soon" message which disappears shortly after startup.
5000 miles and it comes on and stays on saying "oil change required"
At that point it needs to be reset in order to turn it off.
Keep in mind that the new oil change interval for RX350 is actually 10k miles as it uses the 0w-20.
However, although the interval is 10k per above....the light still functions as though the interval is 5k.
Doesn't make much sense I certainly agree.
You'd think Lexus would have adjusted it accordingly.....
The NAV maintenance section is for your own purposes in order to help keep track.

This issue of the warning light was available on the forum last year. The service interval can be changed for the navigation-equipped cars. Go to menu, vehicle, service edit , and change from 5000 to 10000 miles. To reset a service warning on the dash, do the following: display Trip odometer A, turn off the ignition, press and hold the odometer button, turn on the ignition with foot off the brake, the reset process takes a few seconds and displays 00000 when completed. Release the odometer button and turn ignition off.

Lots of recent discussion about this in other posts. Some say it's a "use it or loose it" situation on the free 5K and 10K services as part of warranty, others have seen some flexibility. Oil change is now done only at 10K since Lexus switched to only synthetic. I suggest you just call your Lexus Service department and ask the question to be sure in your specific case.

No, I don't play soccer!
2011RX350, as long as the previous services were done, I'd save the free oil change for the 20K. The 15K is the first major service but does not include the oil change. Click here to reset the change oil light yourself. In the meantime maybe call a Toyota dealer to see what they'll charge for the 15K.

My 2012 has the free 5000 mile service too. I called and they said,,,
At 5000 miles they will rotate the tires for free and then at 10,000 miles they will do the oil.
