Lightbulb Bodyside moldings work!

Yesterday while parked at the dog groomers a person in an old Ford Taurus parked very close to the side of my RX. I saw him park from the window of the shop but assumed he was a normal human being. Big mistake! When my wife and I returned to the car I saw that he had deliberately smashed his door open while leaving the used car lot next door in an obvious attempt to damage my car. Fortunately the Lexus bodyside molding on the front passenger side had taken the brunt of the damage. Even though he left traces of his paint up the side of the door it was easily removed with a little elbow grease. The molding has a large nick out of the paint revealing the black plastic underneath but the door itself was undamaged and doesn't need to be repainted. These moldings were well worth the money spent to have the dealer add them.

I thought about adding them to my new 2012 black RX this spring.

Then on second thought, what are the percentages of shopping carts, car/truck doors,
bicycles/tricycles and any other damaging objects will hit that narrow strip molding on that large area???

2%?

4%?

Not worth $133.00 to me

its the car beside you that is going to ding your door. The panels are sooooooo big it just like a magnet. I like mine alot and would not be without them.

Could not agree more... Got them on my 350. You can save even more by installing them yourself.

Another add-on that's worthless to me is mud guards.
Their not big enough under there to protect anything.......

Sorry, JMO

Other car/truck doors more like 50%.

They already saved my door twice! Your 2% is 100% for me. I paid $100 for it, and it saved me from having to repaint my doors.

Spending $100 on a $56K car helps me sleep better at night, it's well worth it.

They look good. Maybe I should consider some as I hate door dings.

Sewells offers a discount to members of clublexus so I paid $110 shipped. They are painted and take about 20 minutes to install. Well worth every penny.

i'm with you on both counts.
and i'm the same with my phones, whether it's the iphone or the BlackBerry Bold.
i like them naked. among other things.

and i'm one of those guys who don't park NEAR anywhere, especially near the disabled parking space.
Surprisingly, i always have a parking spot.. and exercise.
i chuckle everytime i see drivers waiting idle 5-15 minutes for a parking space that is SO near where they're going.

I installed them on our 2006 Rav 4 we had prior to the 350 and all you had to do was look and see all the dings and paint chips on the molding to appreciate their value. Immediately after buying the 350 we had the dealer install them. Honestly I don't know why they don't come standard.

i like it that way. That the side moldings is an after market product.
i prefer my doors to look like 1 sheet/piece of metal.
