2011 RX350 Antenna Fin fell off
Hello!
My garage door malfunctioned and cam down hard as I was driving into my garage. Fortunately, my side rails took most of the brunt but it tore off my Antenna Fin. Luckily, it came off in one piece and I can glue it back on. But can someone please help with 2 questions:
1) It does not look like there was any electronics (wire?) actually enclosed in the fin except for some enclosure housing an electronics 'chip'. In other words, nothing really jetted up into the fin. Could something else have fallen/broken off?
2) There is a black piece of rubber that separates the fin from the car roof. It looks like there is a 1mm space between rubber and the roof (at the back of the fin). Do I have to worry about water leaking into this space and entering the car? Or is this 1mm space normal?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Charles

Are you saying there is no wire running through the roof into the shark fin? It is my understanding that there should be a wire that runs through the base into the sharkfin and that the fin basicly covers up an antenna that is under the shell.
You best get it fixed soon as that is the stabilizing mechanism that makes the RX so solid on the highway. The areodynamics will be thrown for a loop with out it.

I looked at the parts online and it looks like there is a connection to the antenna, a plug in. Not sure if that applies without the nav system. The antenna, shark fin, sells for $165 w nav. I did not see the seal listed separately but the dealer might have better access to parts.
