I picked up some additional info Wednesday when I was getting new tires. The S/A had recently been to a Lexus workshop on the new models and according to him, the RX will definitely get an 'F' sport package option. But how much an 'F' on the fenders, 20" wheels, and larger brakes is worth is still the question. On an SUV is it really functional ???

Oh yea, they'll all have the new grill per the info.

Great information..... thx for updates ....

is the enform 2.0 worth the wait? I assume any technology improvement is worth it, as they are just starting to mature.... what does the 2.0 have vs. whats in the 2012 model? /tyia

I think the idea of an "F" sport for the RX is growing on me. I'll have to wait and see what Lexus comes up with.

Default F-Sport and 2013 Refresh

A thread over on the GS Forum alerted me to an article over on Lexusenthusiast.com reporting on a Taiwanese article claiming more confirmation of an impending RX350 (and 450h!) F-Sport coming out the "first half of 2012".

The original article on autonet.com (In Han Chinese but relatively decently translated by Google Chrome, please forgive the fractured grammar and sometimes odd word choice due to the inexact translation) says:
According to the the AutoNet automotive Daily exclusive message, LEXUS expected to be launched in the first half of 2012, the RX the F Sport to replace the current Version S, in order to create the integrity of the F-Sport family, therefore giving a special suspension shock absorber system, 19 -inch alloy wheels with 19 inch tires, metal mesh grille, the F totem leather seats and black interior, leather steering wheel and gear shift head movement of the vehicle body side skirts, LED daytime running lights, the F Sport exclusive emblem decorated In addition to highlighting the differences with the general RX also offers consumers more choice, of course, slightly enhance the driving pleasure; but will also and BMW X6 M the Sport the Package, the M-BENZ ML AMG, the Sport Package to compete. The 2012 RX cars which power can choose the F Sport? 3.5L V6 naturally aspirated engine and 3.5 V6 the Hybrid oil electric hybrid system, that is, the RX 350 the F-Sport and the RX 450h F the Sport. Taiwan will introduce the RX the F Sport? Conjectured that he may, after all, RX 5,6-grade class in the local market to attract a lot of the bones of this group of consumers, but still hidden blood! LEXUS the RX the F the Sport exclusive proprietary exclusive leather seats and black interior leather steering wheel and gear shift head exclusive car side skirts with special suspension shock absorber system 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, metallic mesh grille LED daytime running lights dedicated the F the Sport emblem decorated
Hard to say if this is a real grille or Photoshopped but I'm loving the look:

My dealer is telling me June for the RX refresh with the new spindle grill. Not sure if it will get the updated remote touch though.

I saw the new GS F-Sport today, someone was test driving it. Very nice, guess I have to make a trip to the Dealership. It can be a negative living so close to a Lexus Dealership. lol

Oh I hate it..... Now I have to buy a 2013. I think it wears the new grill well and I like the changes to the rear lights and the subtle changes to the interior. However if they are going to do a complete make over in 2015 I should wait.

Agreed. The look will certainly be one a lot of younger folks will love, but I'm feeling like an old timer in my early 50's. As a 13-year continuous owner of Lexus RX, I may be able to live with the base new front-end, but no way on the F-sport if it were the only option. If these pictures are the real thing of what is to come, I'm even more happy that I received conformation this week that my 2012 RX450h will be made the week of Feb 20th, and I'll take delivery next month of perhaps the last of it's generation.

^Not totally true for the younger age appeal but I know what you mean. It is more aggressive on looks and I kinda like it but I still prefer ours. I just feel the first grill could have been more polished. The grill seems rushed, disconnect and confusing. The F-sport seems more in streamline.

But I love the headlamp. Wonder how this will look on a 350.

oh wow, looks very nice indeed.

I bought my 2012 RX350 just 3 months ago and now I am very tempted by this. If the '13 has improved on the Navi response and the upper homelink console is redesigned (and backlit), I'm pulling the trigger.

No, I'm not concerned what the neighbors think and I'm not a "keeping up with the Jones" type of guy.. I just like the latest and greatest that's all.
