Installing cabin air filter in 2010-2011 RX350
It seems that any earlier posts on this topic referred to 2nd generatio RX models. I read them which indicated pins that must be turned to remove the glove box. This is not the case with the 10-11 rx. It is real easy to do. Just remove the small shelf in the glove box.....pulls upward and snaps loose.
Then you will see an access panel which can be lifted up and removed to expose the filter access. Squeeze the 2 tabs.....1 on each side of the access cover and then pull out the dirty filter. I replaced the original Toyota filter with a fram filter from Walmart. I also changed the engine air filter and it was a breeze to do. I ordered a fram filter from Autozone......cost about $21.00. It took no longer than 15 min to do.

Doesn't the air rec button just recirculate the cabin air as opposed to fresh air from the outside?? I will set this on recirculate only if we arepassing by a feed lot or an area that smells terrible. Hope the filter catches all the dust from the Arizona air?
Cheers,

RX350 Cabin Air Filter
Can any one show me how to replace the Cabin Air Filter in 2010 RX350?
I read in here that you need to switch to the ReCirc mode but then how to remove the shelves in the glove compartment? I almost broke it another the day but still can't take it apart.
Please help. Thanks.

No, I don't play soccer!
I can't remember the trick to remove the shelf. I believe you have to move it backwards while angling the back up. I keep mine somewhat unsecured for easy access. For the cover behind the shelf, push it up until there is a gap on the bottom, then flip out the right side. The dealer has probably replaced the cabin filter already so it's a little easier to remove. Good luck.

Speaking of the shelf, is there a bettter place to put the manual in the car? Mine plus the Nav system book takes up the whole damn glovebox and even then it doesnt fit. I read that some of the other Lexus's have a place in the back for it. Seriously you look at it every 12 months but I still want it close incase I do have a question.

Stick some male velcro on it and hang it with the first aid kit or adhere it to the rear cargo mat or I think there is a place beside the spare tire it can fit. Maybe toss it in the cargo net? I dunno. I'm frustrated with how big it is as well. I figure if I can operate the vehicle I can just store the manual(s) in the garage until I get home. It's like having a copy of the Gutenberg Bible in my glove box. You would think they would have downloaded all of this to retrieve through the nav system by now.

Jairus, I guess you haven't checked the black hole called the middle console. There is supposed to be an area especially made to put the manual in there. I think the area goes underneath the cup holder to the side of the outlets. Needless to say I don't use it.

So, the shelves must come out first by pulling TOWARD you and UP? Then push the cover UP and to the RIGHT?
I will try again. Thanks everyone.
