RX350 Cabin Air Filter
#31
I just remembered I replaced my house water filter with a heavier one, and my water
pressure was reduced, so I went back to the thinner one.

So far so good with the Wix cabin filter. I passed by a dead skunk in the middle of the road yesterday. Not even the slightest smell and the vents were on outside mode. I'll have to give it more time before I make a final judgement.

Decided to install Wix cabin filter with carbon and replace the OE paper one yesterday. Right out of the oversized box, the Wix filter is noticeably heavier and denser. The size is identical to OE though. Pricewise, Wix is less than half the price a dealer charges. I paid $12 online. I'll put it to the test this week and report back.

From Amazon and I think the model number is 24511.
There are two filters available, one with carbon, according to Sewell's site.

I've gotten the one without carbon from them for $15 and it's all white with thin to almost shear pleats. So I'm not sure what the carbon one looks like.

I got mine from Sewell's as well about 9 months ago. I checked it last week and it hardly had any color or trash at all. I think the auto recirculation on/off based on the dirt in the air does a great job of keeping dirt out of the filter. And I don't smoke so about the only thing to taint it is my own hot air (not sayin where it comes from either). This one will go well beyond a year I"m sure. Unless I brew up another pot of 10 bean soup then ....

rx11fan, I still have the Wix filter installed. I've been meaning to pull it out and check it. Maybe later. Still seems to work fine. I've purchased the Sewell OE filters before but only when I had a few other things to get to make shipping worth the extra cost.

Sevn, I think you will like this. I read in this or some other thread about a secret hidden storage and it is nice... I just threw the manuals there. When you lift your center console hand rest,, you can lift up the storage box and underneath it, you have more room plus area under the cup holders where you can happily store those manuals....Credit goes to kitlz or whoever mentioned this. I am sure there are folks who didn't realize this...

I just got the Wix bioshield 75 filter. I pulled out the original filter from the vehicle and saw that it is a Carbon impregnated filter. Probably that's what Sewell has for $43. After a little research, I see that carbon helps prevent odors, exhaust fumes, mold, moisture and allergens. I did see a bunch of leaves in. So I cleaned it pretty good and put it back for time being. I have about 1yr/9K miles. Just logged into mylexus and see that Filter is only cleaned at 15K/18mo and replaced at 30K/3yr. Any comments.
