Faint Beeping When Driving
#16
Best bet is going to be a consult with the Service Dept. There's stuff on these things the manual doesn't cover b/c us owners don't need to know that there "techy stuff" Afterall if we knew ALL the secrets how would they make money

Nope. I have a 10K service coming up in a month and I guess I should bring it up. It happens sporadically so that I dont even know they can help me or not. Tire pressure seems normal.

More than likely they will take it out for multiple test drives and the sound won't show up. As soon as you drive it off the lot, however, it will return. I think that's the way these thing normally unfold.

faint beep
My 2008 RX350 also has the faint beep somewhere under the dash. No warning indicators, not low tire pressure, doesn't make any difference to the type of driving I am doing. Doesn't happen just because I have washed the car, just driving down the freeway and beep. It seems it only does it once per driving session, at random intervals meaning it may be 5 minutes after I start the drive, it may be 10. It is more of a curiosity than a problem.

Just a wild guess, but do you have a battery-powered device somewhere in the car with possibly a low battery. I have devices that emit a faint beep when the battery is low.

No, I don't play soccer!
Great suggestion, Ray. Remember the posts about the mystery beeping noise in the garage? It turned out to be the garage opener.
dmac1953, welcome to CL. I'd suggest you do a search over in the 2RX forum as well. I don't recall a thread that might explain the mysterious beeping. Good luck.

If the sound is in the garage, check the water softener [if you have one]. Low salt level sets out a faint beep.

Fixed ( I Think)
So I was experiencing the same faint steady beep sound and it turned out my golf clubs got jostled around and hit the button that raises/lowers my third row seating. Maybe check to see in the back seats are all the way up or down.

I actually am having this problem with my 05 ls430. The beep sounds like when the car senses a nearby object, it is that same sound but a quick beep and happens every 45 seconds or so, and only beeps when I’m driving with the stereo on. Weird…
I was thinking it was a tire sensor, so I checked all 4 tire’s PSI and they were at 34psi with I think Zrated tires…I put ‘em up to 38psi and I still have the sound..maybe I need to raise psi even more..

Silly question but have you checked your tire pressure lately? Some vehicles (not sure about the RX) have a sensor that will go off if your pressure is a hair too low (but not low enough for your TPS to catch it). I usually will be set off by the vehicle entering a turn or otherwise having swaying movement.
