The 3rd gen is designed to appeal the dudes. The 2nd and older were for soccer moms from the looks of it hence the phrase "woman's vehicle". Just my cent.

Several years ago (2003) when it was time for me to retire from the Navy, Jane wanted the RX 300 and we bought one of the last ones as the 2nd gen was on the showroom. We soon learned it was not only a great lux car and could carry most of what I ever did in the truck, it was bullet proof as far as dependable.

Now the RX 450h is filling it's space in the garage and is a great car for anyone with a house that needs a multi-purpose car. And it carries me and my Segway in style

My coworkers make fun of me for buying and driving a white rx350. Living in southern California, I'd say 8/10 drivers are women. Doesn't bother me and I love the interior and the ride.

I'd say the ratio is closer to 50/50 by me for 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen RXs.
