Im getting 13mpg (after refill) according to the on board computer. I guess its very low because I do 90% city driving, the few times I mixed some highway driving in, I got about 15mpg. It somewhat surprises me because I am an unspirited driver and I always use 91 grade petrol. Your price per gallon kills me JSKennedy, I pay $1.10 cad per litre here, which is US$3.90 a gallon

I have one question: the columns in total miles and miles driven do not match, why not?

For example, the last 2 entries, 5113 + 335 = 5448, and the column on next line shows only 5426.
5426 (cell B20) should be the sum of cells B19 & C20 or (5113+313) which is 5426

so i previously had 5113 miles, then drove 313 miles on last tank, & now have 5426 miles

So you have concluded that it is worth while to save $80 a year to go against manufacturer's requirement for octane. I hear you can save another $20 a year by using KMart engine oil

i drive 90% highway, ~80 miles per day round trip

my one 26.5mpg trip was driving at or below speed limit almost all highway the entire tank of gas. was pushing to see how high i could get the mpg

sorry to hear about the high gas prices up north, i'm often pissed about prices being too high here

You are getting excellent mileage out of your RX350. Is your RX FWD or AWD?

My wife told me she got 16 mpg from the first tank of gas on her RX350 AWD, mostly city driving with some highway thrown in.

My 2010 RX350 AWD is getting 17mpg on the city, with most street at 40mph, and on the highway I am usually doing 72mph and I getting 22mph.

it may be my imagination, but when i watch the mpg graph screen, it seems like i get worse mileage between 50-60mph, 40-50 is good, & 60-70 is good

After reading these threads, I'm thinking your tire pressure is pretty low. You should be able to run 35 lbs in all four and achieve a reasonable ride, better handling and maximum fuel economy.

Even back to my RX300 with those same pressures I was getting 19-20 city and 24-26 hwy. You should be able to get that or better.

JsKennedy, if you exclude the first two fill ups when your car had less than 1,000 miles (which is the break-in period when mileage is lower), it looks like you are averaging an extra 1 mpg on premium vs regular or about 5% greater.

Use the fuel your vehicle was designed for. If you can't afford the gas, you can't afford the vehicle. If you can afford the gas you just being stupid.
