Talking Keep tires/wheels straight when parked?

Does anyone know if keeping the tires/wheels straight when parked would help with the longevity of the steering wheel and/or the car powering system?

I still have not heard a clear answer on this and just wanted your opinion for a RX.

No, it won't affect the longevity of the tires. Park it like any other car.

I'm with Happy on this one. I don't think it should affect the longevity of either the tires or the power steering system and if it does, it would be so negligible that it wouldn't matter. Besides, if you're parallel parking you should be turning your wheels toward the curb just in case the car rolls anyway. If you're not parallel parking, I still don't think it'll matter much.

Umm, only on a downhill slant. Turn them away from the curb if your uphill. /obvious

with great difficulty

j/k go to the user cp on the top left hand corner and personalize to your liking. Just play around with it. If I write a step by step it would be pretty long.

I completely agree with the other members. The answer is there's no difference. And that's coming from a 17 yr driving history both in the East Coast and now here in CA.

what about for the tires? Do the tires get worn easier when parked non-straight?

Good lord.

Steering angle has nothing to do with parking unless you're parking on a hill, when you should turn the wheel to let the curb stop the car if the parking lock and parking brake fail.

No.
A better question is this. Which driver gets worn out easier? The straight or the non straight.
My gay friends gets more action in a week than I do.

1/2 the time park with the wheels to the right and 1/2 the time with wheels to the left. It'll even out the wear.

Man, this thread needs to be locked. No offense to the OP but I feel that the question is poorly thought out.
