Having difficulties getting the hill start assist to engage.
How hard should I have to press the brake to get it to work?
I have followed what it says in manual, but no luck so far...

I used hill assist last winter. I was stopped on a snow covered hill waiting for a train to pass by. Gates starting coming down just as I started up it and I had a car behind me. I didn't want to lose control so I pressed the brake pedal much harder than usual and held it until it beeped like X said. It worked perfectly, didn't slip at all.

I have an issue with the beeping. Its annoying. On my Benz, hill start assist engages automatically, you dont have a choice. Honestly I prefer that. the beep causes passengers to ask what that sound was and disturbs the peace

So do i press very hard? and should i hold the pedal for a second or two - and then get the beep ?

Oh sorry - just tried it, wasn't pushing the pedal hard enough. Silly me !
