Leather vs Premium leather? Aniline or semi-aniline? What is difference?
Canadian Lexus site offers with Premium leather with ultrapremium packages only. USA site offers leather and semi-aniline leather at same price.
What is difference?
My premium package with perforated and ventilated, is aniline or semi-aniline? Leather or premium leather? Who knows

The Luxury package here in the states comes with semi-aniline leather. Other wise the standard leather is part of an automatic option. I have yet to see a cloth interior 2010+ RX.
The semi-aniline is leather is supposedly dyed all the way through the leather instead of top coated like regular leather. This makes the leather softer and if it starts to crack the cracks are the same color as the leather and less noticeable.

I have seen a cloth 2010+ RX. I have also seen a 2007 ES with cloth seats. It does not look right. Of course, the ES now comes standard with leather, but the RX is the only car in the line up where leather is an option (though a very common one).
I cant tell the difference. Its supposed to be softer.

No, I don't play soccer!
LOL, special order for fabric seats! I haven't seen an RX with it. Must look really strange.
RXSF and Michael, do you see any difference between the semi-aniline and standard leather? Can you tell the two apart? Just curious.

I can tell the difference but, I am a snob, so there is a difference. A big one ,no. Time will tell with this, the difference is more noticeable as it ages. Initially it has a softer feel.

I test drove a used 2008 RX400h with the semi-analine leather prior to getting my new 2010 RX450h with the standard leather. The semi-analine was indeed a "softer" feel and more comfortable in my opinion. We also purchased a new sofa and chair with semi-anline leather vs. the last leather sofa we had for a number of years. The semi-aniline leather is better conditioned and a more comfortable product. The upgrade to semi-analine in the RX is definitely a cost increase, but it is nicer in my opinion vs. the standard leather.

Unless you're allergic to leather I don't see the reason to choose fabric.
As for the difference of the leather and semi aniline leather, since both of them are dyed anyway I don't see any difference at all

Well I love leather, the smell and the feel. But people who like fabric say they dislike the extreme temperatures of leather in the hot sun or in the cold. Fabric hides temperature. No scratches in cloth either

Had the same light color in my 2005 RX and I have in my 2011 450h it only takes 15min once a month to keep it looking new. Had 77k on my 05 and never got that crack people talk about and hope not to get it in the new car.
