Default Mark Levinson - Rip to Hard drive ?

I couldn't find any answer - but maybe i wasn't looking hard enough

" We all have eyes - but not everybody can see " - springs to mind

Anyway, heres my question. Can i rip from cd's to the hard drive with Mark Levinson ? If so - is it easy to do, and how much hard disk space is there? In fact - where is the hard disk ? Is it the same one for a the nav? Its not a SSD is it ?

No you cant. Lexus thought it was enough that you have a 6 disc cd changer, usb/ipod capability

Unfortunately, you can't put anything on the hard drive. It's just there for the NAV.

I haven't tried FLAC, but the manual only mentions .mp3 and .wma files, so I doubt it.

This is for Japan. You won't see this in the states.
I know in some counties, there is a HDD option instead of XM.

My Apologies ecub.

I thought it was interesting that other countries have different ML options...

It was near the beginning of the video - where the minidisc, tv and HDD were .....

Reply from ML regarding FLAC files:

" Harman manufactures for Lexus the amplifier and speakers for this vehicle. The head unit is another manufacturer. The amplifier will only process whatever audio is passed to it from the head unit. If the head unit is incapable of decoding the FLAC file, then the system is not capable with FLAC files. Please contact your local Lexus dealer regarding further questions about the head unit "

In a schematic I glanced at, it looked like it was in the front dash near or associated with the nav/display unit.

I thought maybe it was buried in the center console, but I saw it sweating once with condensation. So not likely.
