Yes there is a separate fan in the back of the seat.

I made the cardboard air ramps, pull down the cloth in the back of the seat.I put the back rugs against rear of seat and these seats still suck.I put ac on full blast pointed towards floor also.I am so disappointed. One of the top ten reasons I choose the rx in nov was because i thought they were cooled seats.I feel barely anything, especially from bottom cushion.

Has anyone complained to Lexus about this problem? Apparently they haven't changed anything on the 2013 as I feel it get hot as well. My GS cools my butt really well, not sure why the RX can't do the same.

Totally agree, the ventilation in the seats is pure crap. The air flow is dismal. I had a 2009 IS350 that had better ventilated seats.

Other than poor XM reception the air flow of the seats is the only other flaw I find this vehicle. My Chevy Avalanche has cooler air and more velocity on low speed than my RX450h on high. I can detect a slight cooling, that's about it.

I used Foil paper sheet to redirect the air.

Hi All
Any pics with this parts installed below the seats?
what about the feet with passengers ?

I agree. I can't tell it's on unless in light shorts and no shirt or light Tee shirt. I can't believe Lexus hasn't dealt with this in three years.

Was a scorcher the last couple days and the seat cooling feature is practically useless with pants worn. All black interior in the F-Sport only worsens the situation. I was still feeling a little sticky, though at least the car A/C was fine keeping the air cool in the cabin. A friend of mine with the '13 ES has the same issue. Don't get how Lexus engineers can allow this to go into production.

Will have to try the foot vent redirection...

Most of the times I forget to turn on the cooled seats but not this time around. It's hot as heck here too. I'm fine with the fact it stops me from sticking to the seats instead of being levitated by air. One of these days I'll get around to doing this mod to see how it improves cooling.

I know this is an old thread, but while sitting in my 2008 IS in this super hot HUMID weather, I was nice and cool. I put my hand on the seat and there was cool air coming out of the seat. Later in the day I drove my 2010 RX 350. No cool air! How is it Lexus can put better tech in an older cheaper car??? Maybe I need to drive the little cheap car on hot days!

I don't feel so bad now. I test drove a '13 MB S550 and the could barely tell the seats were on, same for the Audi Q7. I drive the '13 RX350 next and even though the cooling was minimal I felt more cooling than the others.

Still might work on something less conspicuous. Along Happy's idea but with vinyl to block the air better.
i detached these flaps last year and now i want to retach the flaps.Problem is i lost the white clips and dont remember where to attach them too?
