Hard to say Goodbye to old RX
I'm buying the 2011 RX350, but find myself reluctant to let go of my 2005 RX330. It's was my first Luxury SUV, my first car with Nav and after 6+ years and 100,000 miles, it's like saying goodbye to an old friend.
Can you believe I'm stalling on this for more than a week although I HAVE decided to do it. Dealer is convinced I'm crazy (or messing with him). I can't tell him me and Suka (my nephew named my car's voice years ago) are friends, she opened up California to me.
Please tell me I'll like the new RX just as much. (Can't afford to keep both.)
If I stall any longer I may not get the one I want: Starfire Pearl, Parchment Interior, with Navigation, Comfort, Pkg, Premium Pkg, Luxury Pkg, Towing Pkg.
It's waiting at the dealership less than 5 miles away.

I have the same RX config that you are getting. I have no regrets. This is my first Luxury SUV and I will have a hard time letting go when the time comes.
Like all things there will be an adjustment period, after a week or so you will love it even more.
Good Luck.

No, I don't play soccer!
iGabby, I've upgraded twice through the years after 5 and 6 years. Each RX had their own special place in my heart. But the new one was not hard to adjust to after a week like MEP said. Too many new features and toys to be disappointed. And the RX you're looking at is pretty loaded. You won't regret it. Go for it before it disappears.

Gee, I wish you were around here. My 450h (starfire pearl with grey interior) is the first non-german vehicle I've had (other than my truck) and the first nondiesel in more than 20 years. Liked it so much I gave up my VW Touareg TDI. Now, I want another--only I'm thinking older and nonhybrid. Make the change. You'll like the smell of a new vehicle.

Trust me, when you get inside the new RX, you will forget about Suka. I, like Anita above, and jumped ship two times to get into the new RX, and each generation is noticeably better than the previous. You only live once, dont let the past hold you

My wife had a similar attachment to our '00 RX300. Similar story - first luxury vehicle, first SUV, first Lexus, etc. We bought an '11 RX450h several weeks ago, and the transition has been great. She 'misses' the old car, but man she loves the new one.
Go for it - you won't regret it.

I Feel Your Pain
In 2000, I sold my 1991 LS400 to my girlfriend for chump change. Next year, she broke my heart when she left with the car. That was 10 years ago; I still miss the car.
Enjoy,

You will love your new RX. Although I think you will miss your old one for a while, once you're in the new one and see how nice it is, you will grow to love it just like your first one.

Our plan for retirement is to do a lot of traveling in a motorhome and the 2000 RX is the last year Lexus allowed it to be towed 4 wheels down behind a motorhome. We plan on keeping the 2000 and babying her for her future as a "toad".
