Default 2007 rx 350 awd

hi there, im new to this forum, i don't know if this is the right place to ask some questions. please to gentle and nice about it.

im thinking about to get a 2007 rx 350 awd with 80000 miles. my questions are

is there any thing i should be worried about?

what kind of maintenance i should do after i get the vehicle? and how much do they usually cost?

is it too high of the mileage for the vehicle?

i notice when i test drove the vehicle, the sunroof button act a bit funny, i can't remember what the different about it. im gonna test drive it again tomorrow, i will post up more detail about it.

im excited to get this vehicle, but im worried i might get screwed because i don't know much about it. so please help me out. thanks for input and advice!!!

If I had a car like you are discussing I'd be selling it too. Its at an age where you will be spending some serious money in the near future. The mechanics of the AWD are very expensive. Have the brakes and rotors been serviced? I bet not. I'll bet all undone maintenance will be waiting for you as a gift. Unless the RX comes with a 100,000 mile warranty you are better off putting your money on something more affordable and closer to new.
Good luck.

antonyku, welcome to CL. You're better off posting in the 2nd gen forum which is for 2004-2009 RXs. And don't let BlueSurf's comments scare you. Someone over there recently bought a 2004 with 220K miles. Couldn't be happier. Good luck.

Hey. If you really want the car. Your best bet would be hiring a mech to do a check before handing over your cash.

AntonyKu, I'm driving my second Lexus RX, a 2010, and was previously driving a 2007 RX. I really loved and enjoyed that vehicle. My sister-in-law actually ended up buying it when my lease was up. The car had 59,000 miles on it, but it was well kept by me, so she knows who drove it before, and she's enjoying the vehicle also.

A lot of variables come into play when buying a vehicle that has high mileage. It really depends on where you're buying the vehicle. Is it a Lexus dealership(which I'm not sure if the Lexus dealership will sell a vehicle with that high of mileage), or is it a reputable dealership? But I guess if you were serious about this car, I would have it checked over by your own mechanic.

One thing about pre-owned Lexus vehicles, particularly the RX, is that they seem to hold their value well. From what I've seen on the dealer websites and even Carmax, is that, say, for example, a 2008 Rx350 that has less than 40,000 miles doesn't seem to be selling for less than $30,000, maybe even more. The 2009's are going for around $35,000 depending on options.

You just have to be careful and review all of your other options for locating a pre-owned vehicle like the RX.
