I keep tires inflated to 2psi below max on tire sidewall.

Do I save money be using Regular gasoline which often is 20¢ less than MidGrade?
Or better to use MidGrade?
Thank you.
2psi below the max on the sidewall?!??! That's pushing 50psi, isn't it? Take the money you are "saving," multiply it by -8 and you might pay for the additional tire wear.

Just had my first fill-up for our CPO 2013. Fuelly told me we got 18.7mpg, that's a mix of city/highway for 4 days of driving my work commute (the highway portion goes up and down two pretty big hills).

It doesn't, I fixed my post. I didn't realize I "replied" with your post's detail included.

I am getting 22-23 with combined driving quite regularly now. Using premium gas on all fill-ups. I weigh 160lbs, if that makes any difference.

I just bought my 2014 RX350 a couple of months ago. It only had 8,800 miles on it. With the history of very little use I was not surprised to get only 19mpg on the first tank. I then ran Techron fuel system cleaner thu it. The mpg came up to over 20 in town and just below 24 on the highway running between 55-75. I recently added a dry AFE air filter and have seen nearly 26 highway and 21 in town. Town is commuting mostly at 45 mph. Since it runs on regular I am not complaining. My wife has a 2013 450H that only gets 28 average.

My first tank of fuel with my new-to-me 2010 RX350 yielded 22.9 mpg. This was on mid-grade fuel with a mixture of highway and city driving.

consider yourself lucky. I have to think most of that was highway. You will be hard pressed to achieve mileage anywhere close to 22.9'in any scenario. The car is nor even rated at that. Hope yours is a abnormality to the below average mpg these cars receive on a regular basis. Let me add-- these cars do get better mpg in warmer weather and in a two wheel drive vehicle. Go cold weather and all wheel drive-- you will be lucky to get anywhere close to your post. Look for somewhere around 16-18 at about best. Don't get me wrong. I love everything about the car except the mpg. That statement is for the vehicle years up to 2015. I would not even consider the 2016 after driving and looking one over. It is cheap and butt ugly.

This is interesting, as I'm getting 21.7 a little over halfway through the second tank. Again, this is a mixture of highway and city (29 mph average speed).

I'm with you regarding the new RX; I don't find it to be very attractive.

The AWD RX350 is rated at 18/24, so how is it not rated for 22.9?

I had my 2013 AWD RX350 for 30k miles and achieving 22.9 was not uncommon. In purely city traffic, I'd be in the 18-19 range, and on the highway we'd get anywhere from about 23 to 26.

We all understand that you did not get good mileage with your 350, but seriously, you don't need to respond to every poster who gets better mileage than you got, telling them they are lucky and to expect it to get worse.

My RX is FWD, so perhaps that's part of the reason for higher mpg.

It's very typical. Read through here and you will see lots of people with similar results as yours. Our overall average on our RX, when we traded it in at 30k miles, was 20.8 mpg. It was an AWD model with lots of city time.

Lots of people get good mileage in their RX350s.

Default It's been pretty consistent for 40K now.

Just put 40K miles on my 2013 350 RX FWD. Mileage results have been pretty consistent for the past 35K, which includes a new set of tires. Getting 15-18 MPG locally, and 23-24 MPG on interstates averaging 75 mph. Forget trying to compare local, or mixed driving mileage with others, because there are just too many variables (15-18 as close as I can get). I have also found that the quality of gas (not octane) can have a substantial effect on mileage as well. Certain random gas sources can knock down the mileage by 1-2 mpg. Not sure why, but I'm assuming it could be ethanol content, water in the gas or something else that dilutes its specific energy.

best of luck with your RX. They really are a beautiful everything with a ride and feeling of safety. What Toyota was thinking with that new style-- I'll never figure out. Enjoy.

Purchased our '15 RX350 AWD two months ago with 24k miles on the odometer. Love it so far. There are little things that bother me (why doesn't it have a real TPMS system? why did they drop the automatic high-beams? center that backup camera and add guidelines!), but as a riding and driving machine it's fantastic. We've put 5000 miles on it so far (mostly highway) with a high of 25.9mpg and overall average of 23.7mpg. It sounds like our highway average is right in line, but as it will be mostly around town driving now I expect that overall average to drop.
