That's not a safe way to drive, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone (coasting in neutral). Plus I'm not sure the transmission is getting the required lubrication if it's just coasting in neutral.

What do you mean by this?

My experience suggests it is better to turn off cruise control when going downhill and let gravity does its work. Cruise control holds the speed on whatever you set it. Since you have already paid for it on your way up, might as well get it back on the way down. I have done 75/80 without gas on the way down. Of course, you need to be comfortable with the speed and in safe driving condition.

Default 21 around town, 25-26 on the highway

In the summer (when the air is less dense) I get about 26.5 on the highway (resetting the mpg gauge) and in the winter about 25. I only use regular gas.

At about 10,000 miles it was a good 15% less than that, then in what seemed like only a few hundred miles, the mileage increased to what it is today.

So far getting around 25mpg on our 2013 450h AWD. Mostly hilly city driving. Car has only around 500 miles so probably will improve. I am already pretty happy though since our prior car, a Buick Rendezvous AWD got around 15mpg in the same conditions!

Just curious if you are using unleaded or premium gas. We were lead to believe that the engine would perform well on regular unleaded for our 2013 450h AWD.

Right now I am using premium. I may give some regular a try.

I filled my tank with unleaded two days ago and drove about 150 miles already, and am averaging 28.3, which makes me happy.

Bought a CPO 2010 Rx-350 AWD two months ago. Using 89 gas driving the same way I do my MDX I get 20.8 MPG over the last 2K miles in about a 50/50 mix. Very happy since I only get 17 in the MDX.

My wife who doesn't know the meaning of coast or anything but full on gas or break gets 19 in the RX. She isn't allowed to drive the MDX, couldn't stand to see single digits .

Almost 2 months with the F-Sport:

Averaging 11.5 L/100 km (20.4 MPG) - 60% city, 40% hwy.
Average temp around freezing.

This is pretty good considering it's AWD, 4500 lb weight and 3.5L V6.

Does anyone get better gas mileage on the highway vs the street. I do so much better on the highway. I find stop and go driving kills the gas mileage. On the highway my best was 35 mpg on the street it was 30. Also on short drives the engine seems to be running to charge the battery so mpg on short drives is pretty poor. At one market I go to the drive over there my mpg is 19 but by the time I drive home it goes up to 26 and if i drive longer can usually get it up to 28. The biggest difference is how you drive. My wife averages about 24 to 25 mpg. She pays no attentioin to the gas mileage. I drive constantly looking at how well I am doing and can get the advertised mileage or better. This is my wife's car and at first I was wondering why the gas mileage was so poor well it's the driver and not the car. And her doing 24 to 25 is only after I told her to go easy on the pedal. She was getting around 22 mpg before that.

2013 Rx350 AWD, 4500 miles. Our mileage mix, 75/25 city/hwy is poor - about 18.3 mpg. Highway does just about 24mpg. This on the Michelin tires. We got rid of a Caddy Deville with a 300 horsepower V8 that was a lot smoother accelerating and 19.5 mpg in the same mix driving, so Lexus is step backwards as far as the gas mileage goes. Rest of the car is great.
