the car configurator on lexus.com is so confusing. they only have three options A, B and Cs, whereas carsdirect or edmunds.com let you choose individual packages separately. can someone verify the invoice and msrp on a 2011 RX350 with sports, comfort, premium and navigation packages for zip code 91776? i've seen different numbers from different sites. thanks in advance.

of you want to do that, it's customization outside of your local region offering. you can do that at dealership to get pricing, but might not be able to get as good of a discount

thanks. it's so frustrated with toyota/lexus options and packages, so confusing. why can't they be more like Acura, tech or non-tech and be done with.

so i can't pick and choose individual options within the umbrella A, B and C?

Try Edmunds.com as it list the packages when calculating a price.

tried that, didn't work, dealer say adding navi requires additional package.

when it comes to luxury vehicle, customization is necessary imho. that's part of the luxury ownership experience, you have you "own" car if you want. just look at mb and bmw (now they are on another extreme, haha)

That was the RX300, two packages. And then there were the options - CD player, moon roof, heated seats, roof rack.

Special order is the way to go. Sport package is more difficult to find. Sandi K had to special order hers. Took five months, mine four. I selected the same packages you're looking at and added a few options including the LEDs. The dealer deducted the cost of the bi-xenons from the comfort package and I still managed a nice discount. The best part like rominl said is my RX is my own with everything I want.

www.cars.com provides packages and adds/subtracts items as you add packages (such as adding navi).

Note: NV Navigation package is in the above quoted cars.com price. I just forgot to put it in bold print as I did for the other packages.

I think most dealers prefer to set the 'standard' packages is because it's easier for them to re-sell. I bet it makes it much harder to appraise/sell a special ordered vehicle then the one with common options. Same goes for colors.

I went through the same thing. The website is BS. I asked the fleet sales manager about the options and how only 3 packages were offered on the website and even she was puzzled and wasn't aware of that. At the dealer, you can pick and choose all of the options you want. If you are in CA, I can refer you to a dealer where my friend and I got our RX350s for $2000 and $2500 under invoice (the $500 difference was that one of us was a current Lexus owner and the other was not). I think my final price was something like $8K under MSRP. I chose to lease and at the time Lexus was running a lease special of $449/mo on a base RX350 AWD with an MSRP of $42K or so. My MSRP was around $49K and my lease was the same, $449/mo with the same down payment ($1800 or so). Don't quote me exactly, I can't remember all the details. I was amazed to get it so much less than invoice because I shopped around for a 2011 X5 and the best I could do was $500 over invoice (and I called every dealer in CA).

The caveat is that I got the car on Dec 31st and the dealer said they just wanted to move as many cars as possible. I was told their holdback was $2500 and that they were not making any profit on this car, but were counting on making it up on repairs. Their goal, to beat Longo Lexus for volume.

Anyway, PM if you want the info.

Do the truecar.com thing and choose your options, then let the dealers call or email you. You'll save a lot of money and get what you want. It worked for me.
