Default Found two more problem after 1 weeks of ownership

I just found out my 2010 have two more problem. First the center speaker on top of the dashboard cover pop-up, can't put it back. Secondly, the outside mirror doesn't tilt down when put on reverse.

Any idea hate to go back to dealer.

Damn!!!!

Can't help you on the first item. I'd have the dealer take care of it when you go in for the 30 day/1K service. In order to have the mirrors tilt while reversing, the button to control the mirror needs to be on driver side. Good luck.

Default Tilt mirrors for reverse

Hate to ask what sounds like an obvious question, but are you sure that feature is available? I was disappointed to learn after purchase that some features I had in other Lexus are not included [like park assist sensors and automatic fold in of mirrors]; and now that you mention it, I don't recall noticing the mirrors tilting when in reverse either.

Well, there's an easy way to find out. I had it on my 330.

I'm not sure what other Lexus vehicles you are comparing the RX to. Park assist and folding mirrors are available. Park assist is a separate option but can be installed by the dealer. Folding mirrors are part of the luxury package.

Well, that ain't cool. Had it on my 2007 RX350 don't even need to put it on driver side just click to center and the mirror doing it own tilt when on reverse.

Correction, either the driver or passenger side has to be selected to tilt the mirrors down in reverse. Driver side was on the '04.

I'm not 100% sure if Lexus is still doing this since they changed the oil change frequency to 10K. I don't see it in the updated maintenance requirement manual either. Basically it's just a check-up, not really a service. Time to ask questions or get settings personalized. The techs take a look at the car. Then it's every 5K/6 months.

Anita:

Are you certain factory park assist can be installed by a dealer? I am told in Canada it cannot be and we can only get that option on our top of the line Ultra Premium model. If it can be, i'd be interested in knowing the cost --but it would have to be the factory version not after-market.

Thanks

dentate, that's what my sales guy told me when I was waivering on getting it or not. Now I'm not sure if that would have been OE or aftermarket - didn't ask. And park assist is not listed on Lexus dealer websites like the glass breakage sensor or remote start. It was a $500 option. I'd give Sewell a call on Tuesday. They're probably closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday.

Was your car made in Canada or Japan? And as far as the factory park assist can be installed by a dealer I ask about this on my 2010 camry and the Toyota dealer told me for $500 they would put it in.

They can put it in...but it wont be factory and there will be no visual indications via the OLED multi information display nor on the nav. It will be strictly aftermarket.

As for the fold down mirrors, all Lexus cars have this, and even on the 330, you just need the selector to be either on the L or R and not the middle indent.
