Just tape your screwdriver before you proceed.

Hi..
I am struggling trying to remove the rear dome light for RX350 2011. I am able to pry off the clear plastic cover. But I have a tough time getting the whole unit off so I can pluck out the bulb..Anyone knows how to remove the rear passenger dome light assembly? I'm grateful for your help ..If possible, please post some of the pics so I can follow your instructions

Thanks
Howard..

Yeah that's probably the toughest bulb to replace. I'm positive Anita feels the same way about it . Once you get the lens off try using latex gloves to get a better grip to pop the bulb out. You won't need to pop out the entire housing.

Yeah, that rear dome bulb cover is an itch to remove. Same with the bulb itself. I tried to remove the whole assembly but I couldn't figure out how it's held in there. It took me a while before I found the right tool. I wound up using a thin metal tool two inches wide, I think it's for a lathe, to release the cover and needle nose pliers to loosen the bulb.

Thanks for post. I ordered the replacement lights for the cargo area, and the ones received were slightly bigger than OEM equipped lights, and do you know the code for these LED lights? I have seen 3021, 3022, 3175, etc. Any help will be appreciated.

thank you.

The cargo area LED's should be festoon style, 32mm I'm guessing. The rest of the lighting should use T10 or 168 wedges. Your owners manual should list the bulb sizes needed.

We have most, if not everything you need.

The cargo area uses festoon 29mm bulbs. Check out PrecisionLed.com. They have kits designed to fit the Lexus RX.

Thank you for the feedback, I will look for the festoon 29mm bulbs. I have also had issues replacing the fog bulbs and the ones received do not match OEM design, the new ones I have received does not lock, having to return them. Any suggestions?

thank you.

Does utilizing LED for the rx cause any power drain issues? I've ordered a set of LED interior lighting from a forum vendor for my infiniti previously and noticed the lights stay on slightly on he panel boards. It might not bug other people but it sure did with me to the point I changed them out. Just wanted to see if these did the same.

Juni14Ayal, what kind of fitment problem did you have with the fog lights? Also what kind of bulb did you go with? I've tried a few brands and types and didn't experience any issues. For HID, go with XenonDepot, a CL vendor. VLEDS carries some great LED bulbs. And stick with Philips for halogen. That's what I have in my fog lights now. They were purchased from Nigel, also a CL vendor.

No power drain issues whatsoever after 3 1/2 years. I have VLEDS in my 450h and the lights go completely off when they're supposed too. The dome lights and puddle lamps don't come on as smoothly as OE bulbs. But it's not bad at all.
