$2000 below invoice
I have been asking around dealers nearby and they all offer to sell me the $53K MSRP version of the 450h with the comfort package and luxury package at invoice price of around $48K without any haggling. Now some dealers even offer to sell to me $2000 below the invoice for $46K. Why are they offering to sell so cheap? I am in NYC by the way.

This might have something to do with it. It appears the hybrid pricing may be on the trend to lower pricing.
Ford to Sell Hybrid at Price of Gas Counterpart
For the first time, an American automaker plans to sell a hybrid car for the same, lower price as its gas-powered counterpart, removing at least one obstacle for drivers who want a greener ride.

well with the latest recalls in the news about Lexus, and the stop sell from the HS, im guessing sales numbers are down around the country. Guess they really need the sale, they have quotas to meet

I'm living in Houston now, (from Manhattan) and one is lucky to see a $2000.00 discount on a $52,000 sticker. I going to purchase a 2011 450H when the 2011's arrive.
I'll get it through Truecar.com. I'll save big $. I can have the car for just under $50,000.00. (stickers at $56,000) That also includes the Luxury Package.
I'll fly to New York to pick it up.
The Houston area dealers had better wise up or they will loose a big chunk of business next year from smart buyers!

Just bought an AWD RX350 from Lexus of Watertown (MA) - MSRP $48,259, invoice about $43,000, purchase $41,525. Having it shipped to OH for $700. Search the boards at edmunds.com (buying experience).

I can attest to the fact that I just purchased a $53k MSRP RX450h (brand new, 5 miles on ODO) for $2k under invoice - $46k from a SoCal Lexus dealer two weekends ago.
Shop around, there are PLENTY of deals to be had.

The same thing is true in MA - I think that part of the issue is that the new RX may not be selling as well as Lexus had anticipated it would. (this is not backed up by any facts, just a gut feeling)
I was having mine serviced at Herb Chambers Lexus in MA the other day and they mentioned they had 36 hybrids in stock - given the economy I think that dealers are really having to discount their inventory to move it and get ready for the incoming 2011s.
For reference - I picked up my '10 450h for ~47k back in August of '09 - which back then was a steal.
