Default Fuel consumption

Hi, I am new to this forum and a soon to be RX350 owner. I expect delivery of my 2010 AWD next week.

I would like to know what your real world fuel consumption is for city driving.

Lexus claims 18 MPG but that sounds very optimitic. My previous ES330 was rated for 21 MPG and rarely passed the 15 MPG mark.

TIA

Mine has always been around 19 MPG in city driving. In the winter now it's down to 17/18. I do notice the difference in the winter here in Ohio.

I do most of my driving on city roads, commuting to work. The computer tells me my average speed is ~ 28 mph.

I'm currently averaging 18.4 mpg with premium fuel. Car has 3100 miles on it.

When we took a freeway trip to see family, we were averaging 22 mph with cruise control.

YMMV. Literally.

I have been getting 20+ and I have verified this with a calculator when I filled up. This is combined with a larger part being in town. I have not been driving aggressively with this car yet.

Does the RX run on regular gas, or 89 octane medium grade is OK?

Only premium I believe..

Getting about 19.5-21.5 in mostly city driving. This also with 20's so not too bad.

I had the dealer remove the luggage bars (horizontal) a few weeks ago and have noticed a 1 mpg gain giving up to 21.5 in the city.

Default Mileage drops at least 2 mi per gal. in winter

I have 2000 miles on my RX (picked up end of December). So far I have gotten 18.4 per gallon. This is my sixth RX. All the other cars got at least 2 miles less per gal during the winter. My 2010 has remote start which has lowered my mileage as I often let it idle for 10 minutes. My 2008 was averaging 21 per gallon. I expect this one to do the same once the weather breaks in the Chicago area.

I'm also driving this RX in NYC area, half time in Manhattan. My average MPG is 13-17. Once I get out of the city, my MPG is pretty good, better than Lexus has rated.

I use 93.

I am very disapointed in fuel consumption...in city even in easy driving it is in best 14MPG and highway best goes to 17MPG....planing to give dealer a car to find out about such bad consumptions...

older RX350 which was 5 speed auto, 4wd all the time and older engine made much better fuel consumptions...like 20MPG...

don't drive too much in city, running 80-90% highway, my combined mpg has been better than advertised since 1st tank, never averaged less than 22 & get 24.5 on most tanks

you mostly-city drivers need a hybrid

I drive a fair amount in 1 year. Around 20-30k. Mix of highway and city, with a cargo trailer.

With the RX350 with 10k so far I averaged 17.9 mpg. On the highway after a refuel I get 22.0 mpg.

If after a refuel and just city I get around 15.5 mpg.

I really miss my RX400h...and its fuel consumption. With the same driving habits (which are pretty aggressive) I averaged 25.1 over the lifetime of my car.

My 450h is getting around 20 MPG on 93 octane I have been using the remote start because my short city commute cannot get the cabin warm. It is still about 6-7 MPG more than my 330 so not a loss at least. And I'm sure the mileage will improve when it gets warmer.

We just ordered a RX350 and today someone told us that we would need to use premium gas. We thought that we could just use regular gas. Would regular hurt it? Bummer!!!

I have a 450h and premium is required, not just recommended. When I was considering the 350 the dealer told me that it was the same for that also.
