Unhappy Mud flap rx350

HI, I see that someone was asking about mud flap for a 2010 rx350. Lexus has not shipped any to the US. I was just in Austrilia and they have them. BUT... they are factory equipment and do not look like of the 09 which hang down from the body 5-6 inches. These on the other hand go may 1- 1/12 inches and are only for show. The dealer told me that they MAY help a bit with small stones, but thats it. The do not have front ones for the 2010. The cost is $160.00 US. The Lexus of Australia dealer in Chatswood was very help full. They were out of stock and can get them from Japan in 5 business days. Their part depot number is 9488 2177 near to put county cody. The email is www.lexus.com.au. The person that helped me was Kim. Said with Credit Card ( needs faxed copy ) that he would order and ship to you.

Hope this helps. ps think if you go on line you can see them

Bob

Thanks Bob and welcome to CL.

I ordered mine from Sewell last Friday and should have them later this week. The total cost with shipping was around $215 for front and rear. They were on national back order for a while but Sewell has them in stock. The picture from the Australian website is identical to their parts website.

I will post pictures after I install them. Might not be this weekend. Snow is in the forecast.

I received the mud guards today. I'm off to the dealer tomorrow for the 30 day/1K service and will have them install for me. The instructions couldn't be easier - clean and degrease body panel, remove existing screws, match holes on mud guards with body panel, reinstall screws. There are a few extra screws and spring clips for the back ones.

Here are a few pictures. The larger mud guards are for the front, smaller for the back. They are made in Canada. No wonder they come standard on the RXs up there

If you are even the least bit capable with a screw driver, I would install them yourself and save the charges from the dealer. I had the Mercedes dealer install them on my wife's C300 (thinking that it would just be part of the purchase price), but nooooo..... it cost an extra $75..... !!

No wonder I am the one driving the Lexus and she has the Mercedes!

Seriously, it's one of the easiest installs EVER!

Dealer installed them today, no charge. Same with the JDM visors I love 'em!

I agree, the install is pretty simple.

OK Sandi, not the best pictures but here you go. Their first true test will be Wednesday when we are expecting next storm. Didn't get anything yesterday

I ordered from Sewell and have already received and installed them on my RX. They fit perfectly and look fine. My dissapointment is that these were not included with the vehicle or at leat on the options list.

Just got mine today, sad that I didn't get them before the big snow storm. Couldn't do the installation until all these white stuff are gone.
But I only paid US$109.

For those who installed their own. The instructions call for some type of solvent to use before you install them. I never really understood it and was never able to find someone who would recommend and alternative. How did you do it?

Are you sure you ordered the ones for 3rd gen because that price sounds too good. A dealer by me had them advertised online for $100 but the small print said it was not for the 2010.

Ed, the dealer installed mine but when I did it on my '04, I found a solvent made by 3M to wipe the area clean. I'm not sure how necessary this is.
