Any issues with phones and contacts?
Hey everybody,
I currently set up phonebooks on the 4th and 5th-gen nav systems, but I've noticed that there are individual phonebooks for each phone with the new RX's bluetooth system. Has anybody had problems with getting their contacts to transfer from the phone? Were you able to solve them? How?
Since the new RX separates phonebooks, I can't go with my usual standby of transferring the contacts to another phone and using it to upload to the car. Any way around this? Sorry for the extreme technical nature of my post, but I work for a dealership, and if I can't figure this out, then I'm out my job
Thanks in advance,
Phil

Hi Phil,
I doubt I'm telling you anything you don't already know, but Lexus does have a compatibility list on their site showing which phones work with the various features. However based on what I've read here it doesn't mean that certain phones won't work, but just that they may not work perfectly, so they won't certify certain features. Case in point, the iPhone is listed as not compatible for contacts transfer, but I've read a couple of posts from people who have successfully done this.
I suspect the segregation of contacts and phones was intentional and doubt there's a way to change that behavior. In most cases that actually makes a lot of sense. Your situation would be the one obvious exception.
Cheers,
John

in your phone's menu system there should be a list of supported Bluetooth profiles.. or google your phone to find its profiles. The one the RX needs to grab your phone's contacts list is PAB or Phone Book Access Profile. Most phones have it.
