No DIY for thermostats replacement?
2004 Lexus RX330
Lots of posts about coolant but not thermostat replacement or am I not seeing anything in the searches? Also, recognizing that there are many quality aftermarket coolants, does anyone know which comparable one is used by Toyota/Lexus?
Thanks.

Recognizing that auto manufacturers don't produce their own coolant, tires, lubricants or oil, there is nothing wrong with using name brand products. My BMW dealer sells oil specific for my car but you can be sure that they don't manufacture it, they just relabeled it. There are at least three or four types of coolant you just have to know what your vehicle uses.

I guess I answered my own question.😉

How easy is it to replace the thermostat? My Lexus Tech Tech says, not easy.

I was looking for the correct engine designation Thank you . There are enough YouTube videos to tell me that this isn't like my old Corvette and "in and out" in 15 minutes. One site says 2-3 hours.

The above video is for a RX350 and is not even close for a RX330. The thermostat on the 330 is located on the back (driver's side) of the engine. The thermostat housing is at the end of the inlet pipe that is connected to the lower radiator hose.
