Question Brakes and rotors

Hi guys i am newer and have not posted much. I have searched through forums but only can find old info from 2007.
i need new brake pads and rotors since my 2004 Lexus Rx330 has warped rotors. Can anyone recommend a good brand that is not going to break the pockets. I dont want to be too cheap but not pay $1000 for the job also I hear it is best to stay with OEM parts? is this true? does anyone know any discount sites for lexus parts besides the ones on google?

OEM is trusted but you do not need to stick with them. It's just usually they are the most convenient and budget friendly believe it or not. I'd go with OEM Lexus if you do not want to scour the web to piece together a kit. Stay away from big box stores brands like Duralast, NAPA, etc. regardless if it comes with lifetime warranty since it's better to spend more to replace it once then having to use the warranty multiple times like I went through.

For my RX330 which needs all 4 corners soon, I will be sticking with OEM Lexus, I can find parts cheap on eBay compared to walking into my dealer. But my Camry has rotors from Meyle (Germany) and Akebono ASP (Japan) pads and the braking power is incredible. Stoptech, Brembo, and Hawk are also good brands. But do not fall for the slotted/drilled hype. Unless you track your RX, stick to slate rotors for everyday stopping power.

Just bought cross drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pad kit on ebay for $122.68. Front and rear
They are the same weight as the OEM and meets or exceeds OEM according to their website.
Not sure if I can place an ebay listing on here but you can search " [FRONT+REAR KIT] [SILVER ZINC] Slotted Drilled Brake Rotors AND Max Ceramic Pads

I have also purchased ceramic gold from advance auto parts and they lasted about 2 years of city/highway driving.
I recently went with lifetime warranty (when they wear out take em back) from autozone. They work just fine.

Also make sure lubricate the pins on your calipers. I had a problem with a sinking pedal on one of my dry pins

Great price. Im running these on all 4 corners by Powerstop http://www.powerstop.com/product/pow...LEXUS&mo=RX350. Paid 420$ But they stop great, no squeaking, pads are wearing slowly, and they look great slotted and drilled inside the wheel.

It's very very difficult to warp the rotor. Even under racing conditions. It's more probable you have uneven build up of brake pad material on the rotors.

If you have a pneumatic impact wrench and a jack, consider cleaning the rotors first, before replacing them. If you haven't changed out your own brake pads and rotors before, consider DIY. I swear it is straight forward, and as easy as an oil change, given you have all the tools you need.

tirerack.com has so good deals, and so does amazon, believe it or not, for pads and rotors.

I bought 4 OEM rotors and front/rear OEM brake pads online at a total of $380. My mechanic charged me $180 to install them. Total spent $560. There were changed at around 105k miles on a 08 RX350 AWD.

BTW, $180 includes brake fluid flush, which to me is a great deal.

$15 for a liter of racing brake fluid (ATE200), $65 for a power bleeder, takes about 15 minutes to DIY. You just saved $100 for 1 brake flush. On our cars, you don't even need to remove the wheels to change the brake fluid.

The power stop brakes are great, but if you want to save some cash, look up brakemotive on eBay and it's the same as powersfkp, just ordered the kit for my GS
