No panic alarm or or lock chirp - new to me 2009 RX 350
Hey there! I'm hoping you can all weigh in with your expertise. I recently purchased a 2009 RX 350 and have been going over the car, changing fluids, and checking out the various features. First Lexus I've owned - nice car by the way. The first thing that stands out is no lock chirp, or light flash when locking doors from the key fob. I see where this might be due to Personal Preference programming, but I also noticed the panic alarm does not work, no matter how long I hold the button. Is it possible there is a connection between the panic alarm and chirp not working? A bad relay or fuse? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nate

I noticed in another thread you discovered spliced wires in the kick panel. Disconnect the battery, and start thoroughly checking those wires.
Note: when you reconnect the battery, you'll have to re-learn the windows and sunroof.
Windows - perform at each door: lower window half way, close, open whole way, close. If the window switch is still flashing, try it again.
Sunroof: hold the tilt back switch (end of the switch towards the back) until it runs a complete cycle - until it stops moving.
It's probably a good idea to do a battery disconnect for 30 minutes anyway, as it will clear out any potential bad driving habits learned from the previous owner. Since he wasn't too smart about using the oil pan to jack it up, it probably learned some bad habits.

Do you have access to Techstream (toyota's diagnostic software)? If so, you could check if the chirps and panic are disabled through the ECU. I know for sure you can disable the chirps but I didn't check panic although I know you can turn it off for certain Toyota's so I assume it would be the same for Lexus.
As RedGemini mentioned, there's also your other thread with the spliced wires. I assumed it would be an aftermarket alarm/remote start which would make sense for the features you're missing to be disabled but it's not necessary to disable them for the alarm/remote start to work, so I still wouldn't tie these two occasions together just yet.

I also lost the chirp on my 2004 LS430. It happened after I had a low tire light come on and had to push the under dash reset. I figured I may have accidentally hit the key button. Pushed the key button and no locks. Pushed it again and the locks and chirp where back.
