Default another newbie chiming in with my RX330 story - is this a good deal?

First off - just wanted to say THANKS!

this forum has been VERY helpful and insightful in my search for the perfect SUV
no more lurking - I'm finally registered cause it looks like I'm closing my RX330 deal this weekend.

I too test-drove some other crossover vehicles like the FX45 and the Murano and both felt "cheap" compared to the RX330, plus ever since I bought an IS300 for my wife last year I've had Lexus-envy. The RX300 never really appealed to me but the new 330 with it's sporty new accents, 18" rims, and rearview camera really pushed me over the edge... so here's my deal....

I went back to the same dealership where I bought my IS300 and inquired about the various packages available on the RX330 - talk about CONFUSING! Then trying to match my color choice with available packages/options was even more frustrating. My salesguy is really cool and was empathetic. He assured me that because I was a repeat customer they'd do what they could to treat me right!

At first I was leaning towards the Black Forest Pearl - well foget about it! Apparently they're the MOST rare and the ONE my dealer had coming in didn't have Nav - there was another in Sarasota Florida but they'd have to ship it, reducing their "wiggle room" on the deal - Then I was toying with the idea of a fully loaded RX (Nav/Rear Seat Ent/Mark Lev) but they didn't have any without the Ivory interior (I hate the tan - it's SO soccer mom) and it was getting pretty expensive considering I wanted to upgrade to chrome wheels...

Then I started really looking into the Performance Package - according to my sales guy they can work the best deals on these cause they're a nitch market vehicle - he said most people want the RX for the luxury aspects, not the sportscar appeal - and he showed me a Black Onyx with Black leather interior WITH the Nav / rearview cam. The Perf Package also comes with the AFS lights, Air Suspension and Graphite wheels - only drawback on the vehicle concerning luxury is no heated seats, no wood steering wheel and of course no Mark Levinson stereo system.

but here's the kicker - after pricing the various packages - Performance package w/Nav MSRP @ 44,163 - They're offering it to me for 41,998 (savings of 2,165) and I don't have to upgrade the wheels!!!!!

the Performance Package deal is just too good to pass up.... or is it??? Please Advise!

Welcome aboard jeffknet. I'm sure someone will chime in with some their first-hand experience on RX330 packages.

Thumbs up

I'm assuming you're looking at a FWD RX330 with Perf, Nav, Dyn Cruise Ctrl, Cargo Mat and Wheel Locks. From what I have seen, read, and priced myself, getting over $2000 off MSRP is a very good deal. I wouldn't pass on this.

yes it is indeed FWD (sorry didn't post that) with all you mentioned - thanks for the feedback!

I have an RX 330 AWD with the performance package, tow package and heated seats. I think the leather steering wheel is a plus over the wood wheel. I do not like the feel of the wood wheels. The air suspension is fantastic. The price sounds pretty good too. Skip

That's a fantastic price. Up north, they're not discounting that package.

In the northeast (Delaware) it's MSRP. My Crystal White with Performance Plus, NAV, Heated Seats, and 18" Wheels was just shy of $44,000. They wouldn't discount and were tight on the trade-in. Yeah, I think you got a terrific deal.

Default Performance Package... YES!

I just got mine, with the performance package, 3 weeks ago and it's awesome! I don't care for the wood steering wheel either, so it was perfect for me.

My wife loves the vehicle, and come on, it's a Lexus... It's loaded with LUXURY!

Sounds like you are getting a great deal. They only did $500 off MSRP and that was on the last day of the month when I bought an '03 IS-300 at the same time!

Go fo it...

About the only place I know where you can a similar or better deal on that exact package is in San Diego. But most other places, including here in LA, there's not much price movement off of MSRP for that.

wow! thanks gang - I feel really good about the deal now - looks like I'm gonna close it this weekend - after trade-in (95 Pathfinder) the price is 39K and out the door with TTL its 42K

by the way my salesguy let me take it out for an extrended test drive today - when I got in it had 4 miles on it - returned it with 54 - I took it on the highway, listened for vibrations, rattles, etc - didn't notice anything - it even started raining so I got to test the auto-wipers, I also cranked up the NON-ML stereo and was quite pleased - I especially like the new "zoning" features where the sound can be directed toward the driver.

HOME RUN BABY!!! thanks for all your help!

I went on the Internet to get $2200 of MSRP, which was offered by a dealer in FLA, but my local dealer came back with something better.

Did the RX330 prices yet go down?
I ordered my RX330 with NAV black/black as my first choice about 45 days ago. I paid 42K including the delivery fee. I'm supposedly scheduled for delivery by the end of July but not sure if I got a good deal or not. Does anybody know if the prices went down or not? What is the price right now if I'm a new customer?

Thanks
