Default Advice on 05 Rx330, lees than 25k miles

My wife and I have the opportunity to purchase a one-owner 05 RX330 with less than 25k on the clock, all optioned, always garaged for the asking price of $14000. Has a couple small parking lot dings but the car looks new otherwise. Black with tan leather. Smells like it just came off the showroom floor. Only issue is the door dings that should be able to be spooned out and the fact it still has the original tires. No doubt given their age we'll switch them out first thing if we buy it.

Looking for advice on the wisdom of buying this car and if the asking is way out of line. What would you pay if you had the asking available?

We paid more than that for our 07 400h with 89K. I think you're totally fine. If they'll take 13, it shouldn't be an issue. At 25K compared to what it would normally be at (likely well over 100K), you've got years and years of driving and will still be considered low mileage. I would necessarily negotiate the price a bit though because you will want to change every single fluid in that Lexus before driving it much as it's unlikely anything besides a couple oil changes have ever been done. So 800-1000 for tires and probably another 600-800 to change all the fluids. Also, given the age, you will want to spend the money to have the timing belt replaced even though it only has 25K on it. Probably another 800-1200 depending where you take it. This is what I would do to reduce risk. After that, you'll likely have a problem free rig for the next 10+ years.

Price wise it seems like a safe bet. People will suggest to change the timing belt and water pump, but I think you could wait it out a little bit and focus on the tires and fluids first.

Why not ??? We also "fell " into a similar 1 owner sale....Traded an '01 RX300 with 241,000 on the clock towards an '04 RX330 with 54,000 on the clock..

Absolutely enjoy the new RX ,the upgrades , performance and RIDE made this an easy move......I maintain this one like the '01 and hopefully we get same mileage results

Plus, Lexus still shows that GREAT customer support....ours is on the "List" for dash board replacement even as the 2nd owners....

Good luck with your decision....

We agreed on a price. Once money is transferred it'll be ours. I'll post pics when we pick it up.
