2004 RX fluids
Hi Folks. I have searched around, and also used to own a 98 LS400.
In reading the book, Lexus calls for replacing the tranny and diff fluid only if the car has been towing . Correct?
I'm not looking to start a discussion (right now) on whether or not this is good practice..just confirming this is what Lexus recommends?

That's what I read too. But I did it anyway. And I'm very glad I did. Flushing can be a risk but it paid off for me. I flushed the tranny and replaced the fluid with Royal Purple Max ATF. Transmission is soother and has about 1/20th the amount of shudder. Mine is FWD. If you replace the differential, I would recommend you consider Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90. Had awesome results with it in all my 4wd vehicles.

Here's the answer
In googling around here's he answer I was looking for.
I didn't realize Blackstone analyses tranny fluid. I'll send them a sample and see how much life they say it has left
