The instrument back lights are on when the car is started. But, when I turn the headlights "On", the instrument back lights all go out and it is impossible to read any of the gauges. The individual "Warning" lights all work. I have pulled the instrument cluster and made sure the plugs are secure. I have checked the fuses that appear to be related to the instrument cluster. Anyone seen this before and have an answer on how to fix it?

Maybe the rheostat dimmer has failed?

Thanks NVAKieth! I had not thought about the rheostat. Played with it and found it had been turned all the way down!! A million thanks!! Problem solved.
