Loose 12v Power Socket/Outlet
I've been using a CD slot phone holder in my 2004 RX330 for a couple of years. It's worked well, but my new phone and case are almost too thick for it to hold, and it blocks some of my climate controls and my view of the radio display.
I picked up a gooseneck phone holder that plugs into the 12v outlet in the dash, but the problem is that the outlet is loose. When the new holder is in place, the outlet itself can rotate about 30 degrees. Doesn't seem like alot until you have a phone on the end of a 10" flexible extension, which results in about 3" of movement by the phone when going around corners.
Before I pull apart the center dash console to investigate this, is there even a way to tighten up the socket? Is this something that works itself loose but can be corrected?
Thanks!

Pulled the lower dash panels off and answered my own question. The socket clips into a plastic ring which clips into another plastic ring which clips into the dash panel. There's simply too much play in how the socket clips into the first ring, and a little in second ring-to-ring connection. I'm going to try a little Kwikweld to keeps the pieces from moving.
