2008 RX350 Steering / Suspension Issue
Hi all:
I have a 2008 RX350 AWD with 200k miles. Recently replaced the rack (dealer) and all four coil springs (Lexus) and struts (KYB) together with insulators and bumpers (Lexus). I am having a couple of issues though:
- Steering feedback at highway speeds. Not always, but common, especially in turns. Could this be CV Axle? Boot on front driver's side axle was torn. We replaced it, but it's possible that the joint was damaged. No idea how long it was exposed. Or maybe ball joints? Mechanic told me they looked fine, but they are 200,000 miles old, and maybe his definition of fine is not the same as mine?
- The second is the much bigger problem. I am breaking traction way too easily, especially on wet roads. Car feels like it's hydroplaning, but there isn't enough water for this to happen, and other cars are passing me. What could be causing this?
One other data point. Car went into a ditch 4 years ago. Rear control arms are a little bent. Thing is, they've been a little bent for years now, and the traction issue is brand new.
Thanks for the help.
