2009 RX350 Aftermarket Stereo Support
All, I am new to this forum.
I just recently purchased a used 2009 Lexus RX 350. I'm hoping to replace the stock stereo with an aftermarket double din. I've read on some other threads on this forum how to do so with the harness, etc.
My question is, is there a guide to knowing which Double Din units fit the Lexus RX 350 2009 models?
The price difference out there are quite drastic for what I want. Pioneer, Kenwood models all mostly go for $300+ while some models like Planet Audio go around $100 range.
But what guidelines should I use to ensure if fits my car?
Thanks

As far as I know, any double din radio will fit. They are smaller than the Lexus radio. Because of that, you will need a trim plate to replace the current trim plate. You will also need a wire harness adapter that plugs into the Lexus wire harness. The radio comes with a wire harness that plugs into the radio that must be soldered to the adapter harness that plugs into the lexus wiring.
Go to crutchfield.com and look at their videos and adapter kits.
Here is a video on how to remove the radio - www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqgw58_FMeI
How much money you want to spend on a radio is up to you. The features you want influence the price. Some brands are more expensive, but I don't know if they really give you anything for the price. You can get a good radio for $100 - $150 that will have many more features than the lexus radio. Good brands that don't charge premium prices are Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC just to name a few. In case you didn't know it, the Lexus radio is made by Pioneer.
