Lexus RX 330 (2004) Navigation map problem
I have a 2004 Lexus RX330 I'm getting "unable to read data." message on my gps screen...worked perfectly for years.
I've disconnected fuse and waited and reloaded OEM disc.
I've disconnected neg. battery cable and waited one hour.
I've gone into the "secret" menu by hitting Info. and turning light on and off 4 times. When I press the screen button for Navigation check, I get the gps coordinates showing lat. and long. and all kind of changing degree statistics and the GMT info....So, it looks like the satellites are seeing me, but after leaving the screen and restarting the car, I still get "unable to read data, etc, etc.
Would I be messing with danger if I were to hit the clear codes button on the screen? probably yep, huh? Besides, what would I put back in if I were to clear the codes.
The mapping dvd is the original, it loads and extracts perfectly...It is clean and unmarked. I have an appt. in a couple of weeks...$110.00 an hour to do a diagnostics check and they said they'd need it all day. $$$$$$ HELP! I'm not inclined to tear the ECU out of the car and mess with the ribbon connections as I've seen suggested...Are there magic codes to enter after clearing codes on the diagnostics screen...Clock is fine, radio is fine, cigarette lighter is fine. Info is fine, climate is fine. No menu, no display, no map/voice.
