Need help. Need new ignition key.
I bought a 2007 Rx 350 froma used car dealer. They only provided me with a "valet key" not a master key. How can I get at least another 2nd key that will not only open the door but start the ignition, without having to pay Dealership cost ? which they quoted me nearly $325 for a new master key.
Do any of you have any experience and suggestions about this?

Welcome stephen282.
I had the same issue just this week. I bought a 2007 RX350 that came with one key. It was a transponder key with the power buttons but I don't know if it was a "master". The way I did this it should work with your valet key as well.
I first went to ebay and I bought a key from 1010 keys. I bought the version that has the transponder and buttons and the key. When you buy this they have you send in photographs of your current key and they cut the key blade based on that. Cost about 45. It seems like a decent quality key.
I got the key in about 2 days and as expected it turned the ignition cylinder but would not start the car because it was not programmed yet. But this confirmed it was cut correctly.
I tried using the ebay vendors easy DIY key programming 'chicken dance' included with the key but this did not work for me. I was not really suprised by this.
So I googled a local locksmith that could program car keys. I found one and took them the key and the car. About 10 minutes later they had it programmed. All buttons worked and it starts the car. Cost about 38 to program.
I'm happy and have 2 working keys now.

Yeah, I had only 1 transponder key as welll. You can find the programming sequence to get it to work with the lock and unlock function. I bought an ebay special key, but it didn't work for the rear door, auto open function.
so I got a lexus key on ebay. about $100.
someone here said this worked, so I got one for myself ($15):

worked like a charm. now I have two transponder keys that are fully functional. and yes I have the valet key also.
