How to remove fog light housing
So I did not find explicit instructions any where (even youtube), so I'm going to do a quick write up here.
I just bought a 2005, 164k miles. I am a DIY girl, unless I am feeling lazy or that I don't work hard enough for my money, I do regular maintenance on all my cars and motorcycles. I hope to learn how to change out a tranny and do a head gasket and shim valves one day.
So the car had pretty nasty looking hazed over headlights and fog lights. I wanted to put HID fog lights in anyway.
With the bumper off, and the wiring harness unhooked, if you are facing the front of the car, there is an male connector on the medial, front part of the fog light housing. If you push the housing out from the back and toward the mid line of the car, it will pop out. You may need to release the small, thing plastic tube the adjustment screw is attached to first. When you insert the new housing, reverse it.
I did not completely disconnect the bumper, I didn't see the point, but that meant I couldn't get a good 360 look at the fog light housing. I did eventually figure it out.
I did go with used fleabay headlight housings because my HIDs have the AFS feature.
The new housings, wow, make a night and day difference to me.
it's the #2 item on the my RX330 that irked me the most, right behind the massive body roll when cornering.

Good information numbafree, I may be doing this myself soon. Also have to decide whether to try polishing headlights for a year or two before replacing them. It does make a huge difference.

Yeah, I did research, and I decided I'd rather get a used lexus headlight lens. I had a $200 per headlight budget. I really didn't see a major difference b/t the $150 used ones on fleabay and the $200 ones.
Today though I did notice on one of them, a bit of the housing is chipped, no longer having a perfect seal, so tomorrow I'm gonna go fetch some black gasket sealant and slap some on, call that good to go.

Hi Numbafree, I thought of changing the fog lights to something bit better. What's the holder type for the fogs? Gonna see if I can remove a good set of bulbs from the breakyard.
Body roll? haven't experienced that. have done a couple of bends at 80 and mine seem to hold its form just fine.

Not sure what you are asking me. The bulb size is 9006.
I use the sylvania bulb look up guide:
http://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applic...l=1706&make=54
As for body roll, the RX has a **** ton, you must not corner at a high enough speed.

Trying to find an easy way out if the bulb holder matches, I can buy LEDs for the fog lights. Eg: the reverse light holder type is w16w. So any light with that holder type should technically fit the holder. that's the philips LED with the w16w holder/contact points.

Did the RX come with the front grill or is that something you changed?.
I do like the look of that front grill...

I put that front grille on. When I bought the car, the Lexus grille was pitted and, well, it looked like it was 10 yrs old.
When I removed it to put the new one one, all the mounts were broken, where the screw go in, which tells me it had been in a front end collision of some sort. I got the black grille on ebay because I put black 17x8's on, for the weight savings:
here's the grille:

I thought I saw a post from a guy who says that all he had to was prying them?.. Not sure.
