Default Check Engine Light - OBD Code P2189 - Help!

My 2004 Lexus RX 330 with 116,000 miles has a check engine light on. The code was P2198, the problem: Bank2 Sensor1. I replaced the O2 sensor myself, easy, at $180. I erased the code and the check engine was back on the next day. Not sure what to do next, help.

Did you replace the corrector sensor?

The code reader said the Bank2 Sensor1, l was very careful about that. I replaced the one right behind the radiator in the front part of the engine, looked like the manifold. You might have a point. Are the two Bank Sensors exactly the same? If so, maybe I bought the correct sensor and replaced the wrong one, or they could both be bad. I did test the old and new sensor with a Volt meter to be sure it was bad. (I'll try to post the picture I looked at to find it.)

Did you replace it with an aftermarket sensor or factory? If aftermarket, what brand?

Make sure you installed the correct sensor as they are NOT the same p/n and of course not the same sensor but yet they both fit and may look interchangeable.

Also I heard of people with issues with a non Denso O2. I used an aftermarket one cheap from ebay and it held good so far mine was bank1 sensor 1 behind the engine side (firewall side)

Here is my thread for reference and interchangeable part numbers:

I bought a Denso A/F Sensor from Advance Auto. I will check my part number and cross reference it to the Denso website.

I checked it and I do have the correct sensor. I erased the code but it came back on after only a few miles.
