AFS Level Sensor on Lexus RX400h
My AFS's stopped working and since I didn't want to pay $600+ to Lexus to fix it I have lived with the problem. Since night time driving on back roads have become a problem ( I realize the low beam headlights point down to the road), I decided it's time to fix (and flashing light is driving me crazy) . So, I need some advice on buying a sensor (right rear is where I believe it's located), and my husband says he'll fix it.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Oh and it's a 2006.
Thanks.

Check that it's not just the sensor linkage that's broken/rusted. Here is a thread with an inexpensive DIY fix for that:

Thanks for the suggestion. I hope it's not a broken linkage but since my husband is a machinist, it shouldn't be too hard to retrofit whatever we buy to fix it. If it's not that then I would suppose it's the sensor it self? Since Lexus wanted $600 to fix maybe it is the linkage. After we get some warmer weather (-12 this morning) we'll take a look.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

GEN2 RX AFS Sensor linkage on Rear supension location.
I have followed a UK Lexus Owners Club post an determined that Toyota service part 48906-35020 is the same linkage ***48906-35010 appears to match as well. So for under $80 USD delivered you can replace that broken, stiff linkage link and save your eyes from welders's flash. This is a GX/ 4Runner repair part found commonly on Ebay. Ships from UAE and in country as well. UK writer was very detailed in photos showing old and new measurements. I am ordering mine this weekend.

Success, Fasten link to pivot arm first, then control arm with knuckles at 180 degrees opposing.Half hour job, still have all the skin on my knucles.Due to the nuts being weather protected they only needed a simple soaking with penetrating fluid and no heat. $56 Cdn. I'm buying myself a Starbucks with the savings. I used Toyota service part 48906-35010. * maintain exact length. * start with the higher joint when re-installing. Use 2 X 10 MM thin box wrenches and 1/4 inch drive 10mm ratchet.
