When I bought my 2007 the dealership said that it had a SAT radio button but not the receiver. They also said that Lexus would install one later that year at no charge. When I checked back six months later, they said that Lexus had changed their mind and would not install a SAT radio receiver.

So I guess I need to find a reciever.
I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see what all I need.
And start looking.

We installed one of these Sirius/XM adapters in our 2006 RX400h. Also included iPod/iPhone adapter.

The OEM sat receiver is expensive. The Vaistech works well.

I would forget about getting a SiriusXM satellite receiver for your head unit and stream it from the SiriusXM Internet Radio smartphone app if you really like SiriusXM that much. That way you can take SiriusXM from vehicle to vehicle and use it other places - like stream it from a smartphone to a home theater system or smart TV.

I started a free 30 day trial of SiriusXM Internet Radio four days ago to see how it worked. I registered using the email address and password associated with the expired SiriusXM in one of our vehicles but I'm guessing that you don't need an existing or previous SiriusXM satellite account in order to give SiriusXM Internet Radio a try.

The audio quality of SiriusXM Internet Radio seems to be substantially better than the satellite version which has generally sucked no matter which vehicle we were in or where in the U.S. we were listening from.

The content of SiriusXM Internet Radio seems to be the same as the satellite version - and that is the problem. When I am listening to a song I don't care for on SiriusXM, my first impulse is to press the "up" button on the steering wheel to skip the song like I can when streaming from Pandora, Slacker, etc. Except you can't skip songs on SiriusXM - all you can do is try another channel to see if you can find something you like. And the genre channels on SiriusXM like Best of the 2000's, Best of the 90's, etc. are not specific enough for me. I would rather pick a song or artist on Pandora (to which I subscribe to get it without advertisements) and get music of a more similar style and be able to skip songs until I find something I like.

My suggestion is an A2DP Bluetooth adapter from VAIS so that you can stream from audio apps on your phone wirelessly without having to plug it in to an aux-in. And check out the iBolt Dock'n Drive smartphone app which allows creating custom applications screens that can look a lot like and provide much of the functionality of Lexus Enform. We put our phones high on our dashboards in iOttie phone holders to make it easier and safer to control Internet audio streaming apps while we drive.

If you just want a larger selection of plain old radio stations, there are over 100,000 stations from around the world on the free tunein app including almost all of the stations where I live.
