Default Oil cooler line clarification

On this 2007 RX350 with 106K two oil cooler lines were replaced.

At 34,000 miles
LSC VVTI OIL HOSE - LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN LSC 9LH FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE VVT - I OIL HOSE FOR MY07 - 09 RX350 MY07 - 08 ES350 VEHICLES CAMPAIGN LSC 90H EXPIRES MARCH 31, 2013. - ON CERTAIN MY07 - 09 RX VEHICLES WITH THE V6 (2GR - FE) ENGINE, THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE ENGINE OIL SUPPLY HOSE FOR THE VVT - I ACTUATOR MAY DEVELOP A PINHOLE OR DEGRADE. OVER TIME, EXPOSURE TO SMALL AMOUNTS OF CORROSIVE GASES FROM THE POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTI - REPLACED VVT - I OIL HOSE WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED ONE AT NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER. PERFORMED CAMPAIGN LSC 9LH PER FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS

then the oil cooler line at 101,000 miles
COOLER LINE SPLITTING MATERIAL FAILURE - REPLACE THE FRONT ENGINE OIL COOLER LINE PER POL14 - 02

So the first time they replaced two oil cooler lines? Was the metal replacement done on the VVT at that time?

Now this more recent oil cooler line is just a replacement of the other rubber oil cooler line?

When I had it in for inspection I forgot to get a confirmation and didn't realized there were TWO oil cooler line issues.

We decided to pull the trigger and are picking it up Saturday. This in spite of my terrible negotiating skills.

Thanks.

The rubber one was on the rear head, and I thought the front one was already metal?

Regardless, mine also shows a recall performed around 30K, BUT the hose still has a rubber section.....so now I am wondering if they just inspected and let it go....or what?

Maybe the second repair on yours was the lower oil cooler lines, NOT the VVT line. They are down in the front......go from the oil filter housing to the block. I have to replace mine....still the rubber ones.

The second sounds like the oil cooler line that will dump the engine oil out quickly if the line fails catastrophically. There is a thread about that and the replacement is all metal. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...-pictures.html

I would make sure the engine sounds healthy. There is always the possibility that the hose failed on the highway and the vehicle was driven with low oil.

In the notes on the Lexus owners site the owner asked the dealership to check for a leak and they found the leak. So it sounds like it wasn't catastrophic.

The last owner had a service contract on the vehicle and had a lot of things taken care of using that.
