1MZ-FE compatibility question
Hi,
I have a 2004 Lexus RX300 with 1MZ-FE engine, recently it had a problem and it needs the crankshaft and rods replacing. I am thinking of buying 1MZ-FE engine from a previous model Lexus RX300 and use just the parts from it. My question is - is the crankshaft, rods, pistons, and other internal engine parts compatible?
Thank you for your help

In the US, 2004-2006 RX was only offered with the 3.3L 3MZ-FE, but internationally it was offered with the 1MZ-FE still. Thus, being in the US, I can't say for sure.
However, knowing Toyota, I don't see why any of the engine internals would be different than the ones from the 1st generation RX. As far as I understand, the only thing that was changed with the 1MZ over time was that variable valve timing (VVT-i) was added to later models.

This is true as I have a 2004 Toyota Harrier AIRS (RX330 in the US) and it has a 1MZ-FE in it.
The RX300 carried the same engine and might work.
You will have to ask a Toyota/Lexus mechanic about this to be sure.
