Default Just got the sweetest 2004 RX330

I just got the most incredible deal on a loaded 2004 RX330. My Stepmom bought it new, barely ever drove it, kept it in the garage all year. My dad mentioned that they were going to trade it in for a new model, I told him I would give him cash for whatever they offered on the trade in because I knew the car was a cherry. So 9500 bucks later I own a 2004 RX330 with only 32000 miles...the car is completely mint. It even had the original tires on it. The guy at the tire place thought it was a 2014, and the girl at the inspection station could not believe it was 12 years old. Its an amazing car. Im just wondering if I should replace anything else on it (hoses, timing belt etc) Im really thinking that I should be good for a while because it was so babied..I plan on keeping this baby for a looong time.

The top radiator hose is a time replacement not a wear replacement. If it's OEM, I'd consider changing an 11 year old hose. Otherwise, I'd just do normal inspection and replacement of worn parts.
BTW, great to get a used RX in that nice condition for that price. Bet the dealer was disappointed!

Never heard that before. Why is the top hose more prone to failure?

My other car is a Mercedes. There is a top hose connected to the coolant reservoir with a plastic coupler. This coupler broke off by itself leaking coolant, when I went to the dealer to buy the replacement part they told me that those plastic parts tend to crack over time. They get hot and cold all of the time.

I can clearly see why that part is prone to failure.
