Default 2008 valve train kind of sound

I bought a used 2008 Rx350 with 75,000 miles 2wd
The car runs great, gets the advertised fuel mileage etc.. The engine seems (is)noisy to me at idle. Can't hear it while driving. sounds like poorly adjusted valves. Doesn't change with warm up temperature like other posts I have read. I don't know if this is normal and need it checked or not. The car is in pristine condition and a one owner vehicle. Thanks

Ours made some rattle type noises at idle for about 5k miles before the water pump started leaking.

Default videos

I don't know if this will work, I couldn't get just an attachment to work.
As the vid2os will show, the noise seems minor today. Maybe its just the addition of a timing chain versus a belt on my last many vehicles.
seems louder on the video than in person.

Thanks for looking/listening

sounds normal for a car equipped with hydraulic lifters. Be sure to use the recommended weight oil, change per schedule and ensure it is topped off.

That's good and bad. Good that its normal but bad that its seems so noisy. Glad I figured out how to post the videos.
Thank you. Now I need to figure out why my outside rearview mirror makes a big clicking noise when going into reverse Seems to get stuck for a second then CLICK

It may be a little louder if you are using lighter grade oil and it may be less noisy if you use heavier grade oil. I tend to always use heavier oil on my engines after 75k miles. You may want to experiment with this to see which oil grade works best for your engine as wear an tear may have started to take a toll and the thinner oil is not enough viscosity due to it.

Go heavier on your next oil change. I use 10/40 fully synthetic on my wife's 08 RX350.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I checked my receipts and the last oil change was Mobil 1 5w 30 synthetic. I will have it changed today. Any particular brand recommended? Is a special synthetic filter required?
