Default I need radio install help.....pleeeeeeeese!!!!

I have an 08 RX350 with navigation and premium sound. I bought a Kenwood DDX8901HD radio along with the TYTO-01 interface and the ASWC-1 to try and keep my steering wheel controls. I removed my old radio easy enough. Installed the TYTO-01 made all the connections and now I have NO NAVIGATION ANYMORE NOR DO I HAVE AC. It says check AC connection. Anyone know what to do on this without dropping anymore money? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Please do not send me links to radio installs on this forum. I've read them all.

I know an installer for Crutchfield and he refuses to install any of these units, He has seen steering control button issues, blown navigation control units, TPMS problems that were all blamed on his work. Keep in mind your car has a multiplexer system and it only likes things to happen when they are supposed to. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if stuff starts working, if not pull the aftermarket stuff out , put back in the lexus unit and see if everything works. If everything works leave everything alone and take all that stuff back to the store or have a professional installer deal with it.

ThanksIt The radio just sounds so much better than the premium sound one. I hate to remove it but I have to have my heater and AC unit working, temperatures are dropping too quick. Thanks again for your reply. It's greatly appreciated.

I enjoy doing these installs myself mainly because I fear a shop would hack the wiring and I'd lose the ability to easily return it to stock. However if I were doing something complicated like an RX with nav I would definitely buy everything from crutchfield to have access to their lifetime tech support.

If you haven't disconnected the battery on a RX before, check your owners manual for instructions on how to re initialize the auto open/close on the sunroof and windows.

This install has been done many times before with not much fuss, why do you not want to do what has been outlined on numerous threads, just curious.

Default The Metra face kit should have a resistor.

There should also be instructions of how to install it in the package.

Thanks to everyone for their remarks and assistance. However my Kenwood Excelon DDX8901HD radio won't work in my RX. Sooooo I find myself losing about 500- for reselling electronic items that were opened and never used. Listed the radio, subwoofer, subwoofer enclosure, TYTO-01 and other listings on eBay. Asking 375 for a radio I paid 550- plus tax for and didn't get to hear a song is wicked depressing.

Why don't you just install the resistor?

It's $2 max.

For the climate controls to operate properly, the
following steps need to be followed:

1.
Locate the 20-way or 12-way white
connector that was plugged into the
factory radio.

Note: 04’-06’ RX330 & 06’ RX400H have
a 12-way connector and require the
resistor to be added between the Yellow
in pin 9 and Brown in pin 10.

Note: 07’-09’ RX350 & 07’-09’ RX400H
have a 20-way connector and require
the resistor to be added between the
Red in pin 9 and Black in pin 10.

Note: 07’-09’ RX350 & 07’-08’ RX400H
with factory navigation have a 12-way
connector and require the resistor to be
added between the Black in pin 9 and
White in pin 10.

2.
Strip back the two factory wires, connect
one side of the 68 OHM resistor to one wire
and connect the other side of the resistor to
the other wire (see diagram below).

3.
When completed be sure to tape up the
wires including the resistor to protect them
from coming into contact with any metal,
and push the connector back into the dash
(see diagram below)

I know. However on the Kenwood HU when it ejects a CD the door hits the shifter when in park. So I'm liquidating the dream system I bought for it.

Wow im in the middle of planning my radio install for my future rx350. I thought getting the correct harness solve all issues. These are the harness I plan to get

I will either get the non navigation or navigation. Do you know if its possible to retain factory navigation with after market radio install? I am looking at a 07-08 rx350.

CD? Really? You took a 500 dollar bath because of CDs? What couldn't be transferred to USB or phone? I've had mine since March of 2011 and have yet to put a CD in it. Do they still make CDs?

Does anyone know the wattage of the resistor? I ordered my Axxess control devices separately and I don't think it will include the resistor. It's a $2 68 ohm resistor but I need to know the wattage. Thanks

Default Its easy (when you know how)

HI Guys
I feel your pain when doing this to a Lexus and the climate control and stuff stops working.
Despite there being instructions in several languages with my new head unit, none of them explained how to fix this problem and its so easy to do.

With the kit I found a 69 Ohm (I think) resistor
When you plug the new head unit in to the car loom you will find there are a couple of white plugs left over.
One of them has only two wires, yellow and brown (if I remember right but could be wrong, anyway its the one with only two wires.

All you got to do is put the resistor into the plugs two holes the wires line up to and hey-presto. Everything works

As simple as that
Bad-a-bing, bad-a-boom.
