Default Android phone to Nav Bluetooth Connectivity

When I initially connect my android phone to the cars bluetooth system, it works fine. When I cut the engine then turn it back on, it says that bluetooth is connected, but it doesn't work via the cars audio for both incoming and outgoing calls.

I seem to have to connect fresh every time and not turn off the engine for it to work properly.

I used to have a iphone 4s - all worked great. Now that I switched to an android phone this is happening. Both phones have the same version of Bluetooth 4.0

Any Ideas?
