Default 2005 RX330 for $10,500? Buy or not

I found a 2005 Lexus RX330 FWD at a Johnson Lexus dealership for $10,500 out the door. It has 142k on it, some dashboard cracking (which I've heard I could get replaced for free through dealer) and some minor paint chips. Wanted to see if this is a good price for this car and a good purchase in general.

The car is from Florida (now in South Carolina) and has had two owners. First owner leased the car for 3 years in Florida and the dealer claims that he moved up to SC and just bought out the lease, I'm not really sure though. The only thing that spooks me a little is that the car fax records end at 97k but the car right now has 142k on it. Besides that the carfax looks very clean and the owner got the car serviced at a dealership regularly.

I've never owned a Lexus so I'm not really sure about it. Looked the car up on kelly blue book and the suggested retail price was about $13,000-$16,000 so I'm not sure if the price the dealers giving me a bit too good to be true or not (I'm not very familiar with Johnson Lexus either).

Interested to see what everyone on here thinks about this deal.

Thanks

Homayoon, welcome to Club Lexus.

Lexus RX330's are solid cars. You will not be unhappy. However finding the history of a Lexus car is equally important on your decision making.

Did you get a CARFAX report?

If you give us the VIN, we can do some research.

You have to do your due diligence when buying a used car.

Good luck.

When I found a 2008 RX 350 with 108K for $14.5K, I used the Lexus website and entered the VIN. Found that the previous 1-owner took it to their Lexus dealer for every 5K service and did everything as listed. I was very confident in my purchase and got it for $13.8K out the door.

Good luck!

I did look at the carfax and it looked pretty good. The car got serviced at a dealership regularly, the only thing that spooked me a bit was the fact that the last recorded mileage on the car was 97k but the car itself has about 142k on it right now. The dealer said its because carfax doesn't get updated that frequently but it just seemed a bit fishy to me.

Here's the VIN: 2T2GA31U55C029999

Let me know what you all think.
Thanks

Were you able to see any records from 2012 until now? Is it odd that those 3 years don't show up anywhere? On the carfax the only thing from 2013 and 2014 was car registration which seemed a bit odd to me.

Do you think it's odd that they went from getting the car serviced at the dealer on regular basis to doing everything themselves?
