Unhappy Sprained Metal Spring Clips That Hold D2S Bulb in Place

Dear All,

I accidentally sprained/damaged the metal spring clip that firmly hold the D2S HID low beam bulb in its socket on the passenger side of my 2004 Lexus RX 300 (UK/Japan - RHD) while attempting to change a bad bulb.

The metal spring clip no longer hold the bulb firmly in place. This has lead to it shaking in-place, auto-levelling problems and the left low beam not aligned.

I tried googling for replacement clips but no luck. See the attached pictures for a better understanding.

Grateful for your help/advice/contributions.

Thank you.

I would see if you can buy a used headlight on ebay...maybe even one that is damaged and very cheap. Then you can just take the clip from that one.

It looks like by removing (or merely loosening) the cross head screw that the spring would come out - and you could either re-bend it or make another out of suitable wire?

(Nice photographs, however)

Thank you NateJG. I did exactly this and was able to reduce the shaking of the bulb to a great extent. It is still not as firm as the other bulb, but much better than before. Thank you.
